Painting Workshop

Course Description

10 classes per session, 3 hours per class.

Students of ages ranging from teen to adult are invited to participate. This is a course in studio painting practices designed to involve participants in painting techniques and experiences with regard to color, composition, and subject matter. Oil paint will be the primary medium used.

Student Performance Objectives
This workshop will help participants laying a solid foundation in creating the illusion of three dimensions in oil paint using value, shape, color, composition, and edge control. Various properties of oil paint will be explained and multiple painting techniques explored. Participants will be taught how to set up a palette, what mediums are and when to use them, and which brushes will achieve a particular effect. Color mixing is taught in class. Composition in color and shape is stressed. Portfolio preparation will be reviewed for participants who seek entrance into art schools or those who are currently looking for jobs in respective art fields.


Spring Schedule
Saturday: 9:00-12:00 a.m., 1:00-4:00 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday: 3:00-6:00 p.m.
Summer Schedule and Workshops will be
